Once your manufacturer’s warranty expires, somewhere in the ballpark of five years or 60,000 miles, your wallet is vulnerable to costly repairs. A transmission repair, for example, can set you back between $1,500 and $4,000, and a major engine repair can start at $2,500. But with a CARCHEX extended car warranty, you can save hundreds or thousands of dollars on vehicle repairs.
How do you choose the right coverage tier? We can help. Read about our CARCHEX Extended Vehicle Protection Plans below. To get a free, customized quote on a plan, call (877) 226-7328 or fill out the online form.
CARCHEX offers five levels of coverage to match the mileage, age, model, and ownership of your car. Do you have a car with high mileage or a pre-owned vehicle? We have a plan to suit your needs and driving habits. Take a closer look at our plans:
Best for: Ultimate repair and replacement protection
Longest terms available: Up to 7 to 10 years
This is our most comprehensive coverage and closest to your car’s factory warranty. Under a CARCHEX Titanium extended warranty, you’ll get bumper-to-bumper or “exclusionary” coverage, which means that only components not covered are listed.
Best for: Protection for hundreds of stated components
Longest terms available: Up to 5 to 10 years
CARCHEX extended warranties under the Platinum Level are just shy of “bumper-to-bumper” and include the highest level of stated coverage for CARCHEX protection plans.
These plans cover all components listed in the Gold, Silver, and Bronze plans, as well as suspension, enhanced electrical, and heating and cooling components.
Examples include:
Best for: Vehicles with more than 60,000 miles
Longest terms available: Up to 5 to 10 years
While they are not bumper-to-bumper warranties, Gold plans cover most of your vehicle’s major systems at an affordable price.
In addition to components covered under the Bronze and Silver plans, Gold Level service contracts cover steering and braking components for fuel vehicles, as well as certain components for hybrid and electric vehicles.
Examples of these components include:
Best for: Protection for your vehicle’s essential systems
Longest terms available: Up to 6 or 7 years
Silver Level plans offers more than your basic powertrain extended warranty and provide coverage for electrical, fuel delivery system, and air conditioning components.
Some examples include:
Best for: Protection from the most common and expensive repairs
Longest terms available: Up to 5 or 6 years
As the most basic and affordable plan, Bronze Level coverage is equivalent to a powertrain or drivetrain warranty. It covers the costs of repairs for the engine, transmission, and drive axle, as well as related components, such as:
Similar to most extended warranties, CARCHEX vehicle service contracts do not cover the following items:

CARCHEX Extended Vehicle Protection Plans are provided through industry leaders like American Auto Shield and Royal Administration. Though CARCHEX does not handle claims directly, we will communicate on your behalf to make the claims process simple and quick. All our providers compete for your business, allowing us to offer you a low, competitive price.
American Auto Shield is a vehicle service contract administrator that has provided insurance-backed extended auto warranties since 2002. Their insured coverage gives you extra security, so you won’t be stuck paying for repairs on your own.
Royal Administration Services is also a vehicle service contract administrator that has provided coverage and customer satisfaction since 2000. Their BBB A+ rating and low customer complaints make it a reliable provider for vehicle protection plans.
A factory extended auto warranty typically costs between $1,000 and $1,500, but with CARCHEX, you have more options at competitive prices. Third-party extended warranties generally range from a few hundred dollars to over $1,000, but the price will depend on your vehicle and your deductible.
CARCHEX offers some plans with a $0 deductible, so you won’t have to pay anything at the time of your repair. However, you can lower the cost of your contract by raising your deductible to $50 or even $100. This deductible is owed for each repair.
To make plans affordable and more manageable than a surprise repair cost, CARCHEX also offers payment plans in monthly installments. For some vehicles, like a used Nissan, monthly payments can be as low as $65/month*.
